Paper and Wood

I don't do much with Paper, but these were kinda fun to make as a sweet little give-away for some friends. The paper had a fabric feel, something that I hadn't really seen before. But then again, when I am at the craft store, it usually isn't for paper!

Got this idea for Christmas. I loved the way they turned out! They cost nothing to make, and were a festive decoration for the mantle.

A few burpies to go with it.

And of course some cute little hair clips to go in what is sure to be an always styled do. (Mommy is a hairstylist too...)

A friend asked me to make some things for the upcoming fall festival at church. I have so many ideas bouncing around in my brain. If only I could nail them down...

Idea #1 - Baby basket: (Non gendered) Filled with Blanket, Burpies, Baby Changing kit, Stuffed Animal

Idea #2 - Kid Basket: (Gendered) Filled with Crayon holder, Book bag, Stuffed animal/flowers

Idea #3 - Diaper Bag Basket

Idea #4 - Ok, I don't have a 4th idea. Any suggestions???

This is the final donation....Whew! Glad that is over!

Baby Boy Due Soon!

I made another blanket for a friend having a baby boy at the end of the month. He is a long awaited baby, and I am sure mom and dad are more than ready to finally hold him.

This blanket came out thicker than I had intended, but hopefully it will be soft and warm in the winter months, even if its too warm for our 100 degree heat wave right now...

The airplane print is a fitted crib sheet from Target. I was happily surprised how much material actually makes up a fitted crib sheet..

The binding is a vintage look, and I am happy with the eclectic way that it turned out.

Welcome to the world little one!

Fire it Up!

This is what I started with....

This is what I ended up with! So much fun to re-purpose an old but in perfect condition crib bumper into a new cuddly blanket set!

I love the vintage looking binding that I found, and the bright vibrancy of the red check and red binding. I am a fan of ric-rac as well, so of course I had to use some of that!

I hope that he likes it!

Cowboy Junkie

My cousin had a sweet little boy and I threw together this little flannel cowboy number. It was another attempt with piping, and I think it came out well. I love seeing him cuddle with it!

New Belongings...

Because my sister-in-law is super talented, and probably wouldn't brag about her own skills, I am going to post these and show off her super cute craftiness.

This is the sock monkey that she made Maeve. I love the little smile on its face.

This monkey is now a permanent fixture in Maeve's crib, and she cuddles with it constantly!

A super cute doorstop. What a great gift! Simple, and very useful!

A Lont Awaited Gift

Our really good friends are finally having their baby. This is a gift that I have been wanting to make and give for a LLLLLOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG time!
I love the lime green, and the swirly vines.

Nursing Cover

These were easier than I thought! My first "piping" experience though, and I don't think that I did as well as I could have.

"Who's" There?

I attempted to make this cute owl. I need a better strategy for the eyes and mouth for next time though.

Girlie Things

Two more girlie ones....

My PB Look-alike

A friend picked out all the fabric for her new little baby girl quilt. It came out so cute! I love the rick-rack, and the soft backing makes it wonderful!
This was a new experience for me using "invisible thread". Really fun!

Sweet Soft Burpie

Cuddly flannel with super soft chenille. So Sweet!

Cute Girlie Things

Good Old Sports Fun

This was fun to do too!

Easy Burpies

These were easy to make, and went so well with the cute black and white blanket...

Going Green

I thought this was a fun project. Old Altoids tins painted with metal paint, and filled with band aids, wet one wipes, and neosporin. A "mommy emergency kit".
